The perspective

For the past 6 months since my fiancee left me, people were coming up with various perspectives regarding the break up. Some say that I am a complete loser because some one who was with me for the past 7 years left me, and some are of the opinion that my ex was so stupid to leave me after the wedding was discussed and decided between the families. I would like to give my perspective of this with one example, although I will never agree to the view that she was so stupid to leave me and I won't even bother to comment to the view that I am a loser because I totally know that I'm awesome :P

Well, the first job offer I got was from Infosys Technologies, which was through a campus placement in my engg. college. I had no plan to join the company but wanted to see if I could crack the selection process which was said to be very tough. I got through the process and was offered a job as Software Engineer with a very decent pay package (the highest I've ever been offered :P). Once I got the offer letter from the college placement cell, I told them that I have no plans to join the company. The response to this were mixed.

Some said that I was so dump to reject this offer and some said that I can get even better offers and it's OK if I wanted to reject this offer and pursue my career goals.

Let's get into the facts about this job offer and me:

1. My specialization in engineering was Polymer Engineering and Infosys was a software company who recruited me as a Software Engineer
2. I wanted to pursue a career in Polymers
3. I attended the selection process to see if I can get through the process

Now let's see what happened after I rejected the offer and completed the course.

1. Infosys is still one of the greatest software companies in the world with a very consistent growth; ie nothing happened to Infy because I did not join
2. I joined the world leader in Information Providing companies and worked as a Process leader in Polymer patents
3. I moved to one of the leaders in auto component industries in India as an Asst. Manager
4. I quit my job and joined an MBA in Marketing and Finance and now I am almost finished with it with another job offer in hand.

Now you have an overall idea about my professional life and the matter discussed at the beginning of the post is very much similar to the beginning of my professional life. :)

Except for a very small factor that in the case of professional life, there was no family to get hurt and face embarrassment in the society :P... But these are not gonna last forever and are part of life and learning experiences.

Cheers!!!
